This half-term, Year 1 have been learning about mammals, reptiles, fish and birds and their different characteristics. Last week, the children were surprised to learn that elephants and rhinos have small hairs on their bodies so they are mammals. This week the children learnt about fish and birds and had to create their very own part fish, part bird. The children came up with some amazing creations including an animal that was part shark, part eagle; one that was part tuna fish, part blue tit and even a part gold fish, part robin, which was named a goldbin!
