To conclude Literacy Week, our school was transformed into the enchanted land of Narnia. Our pupils dressed as the majestic Aslan, the cold White Witch, the brave Pevensie children or one of the magical creatures from the land beyond the wardrobe. Pupils and staff clearly enjoyed donning their fantastic costumes to celebrate the end of a wonderful week.
In our final assembly of the term, Hacton was honoured to be joined by The Worshipful Mayor of Havering, Councillor Dilip Patel, who listened intently as children described their 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' themed activities (more reports to follow). Thank you to parents for sending your children to school in brilliant costumes.
We hope you and your family are enjoying a very Happy Easter.

Infant Music Festival
This year's Infant Music Festival - hosted by Hacton - was themed around Space. Our Year 2 children joined together with pupils from Langtons, Upminster Infant, Oakfields and Branfil for a stellar sing-song. The Worshipful Mayor of Havering, Councillor Dilip Patel, was in attendance to give the children an extra incentive to put in a celestial performance.
All schools shone brightly as they sang songs together and on their own. Hacton pupils treated us to a cosmic performance of 'The Great, Green, Google Eyed Alien'. Well done to all of the children who helped create an Infant Music Festival that was out of this world!

Worldly Wise: Drones

The final Worldly Wise assembly of the spring term was all up in the air... courtesy of a drone. To demonstrate the abilities of a drone, Mr Moore mirrored the drone's camera on the hall wall for all of our pupils to watch in assembly. It hovered from the ground outside of the hall before it flew skyward, witnessed by some very excited children. The view above the school and the surrounding area was stunning.
Our pupils saw first-hand what drones are, how they work and how they are used to capture unique views of the world around us.
