Achievements of the Week (w/c 24th April)

Congratulations to our Times Table winners this week! These pupils have hopped aboard the Times Table train to continue their journey to becoming a Times Table Champion. They have worked exceptionally hard to learn and master their multiplication and division facts.

Congratulations to our Reading and Poetry Superstrs this week! To achieve this award, all of these children have either read poems or books by their year group authors (Bronze is 5, Silver is 10 and Gold is 15). A big well done to this week's winners who have demonstrated great commitment and dedication to reading.

Our Achievements of the Week winners should be very proud of their success!

E for Effort and WOW! Winners (w/c 24th April)

In order to reward our pupils who have gone above and beyond in their learning each week and put in extra effort, each class teacher chooses one pupil to receive the E for Effort cup and certificate.

Here are this week's winners. Well done - we are very proud of you all!

Year 2: Infant Music Festival

Our Year 2 pupils took part in the annual Infant Music Festival as part of their music curriculum. The last time we took part as a school was in 2019, so this was a very welcomed event for all of us to enjoy.

Over the past couple of months the children have been busy rehearsing seven songs to perform together in the Hall. This year the theme was 'Transport' and we learnt songs such as 'Round the Bend' and 'Petrol Makes that Racing Car Go!'

In the Hall, we were joined by pupils from Branfil Primary and Upminster Infant School as well as The Mayor of Havering, Mr Trevor McKeever, and two members of Havering Music School. It was a heartwarming and uplifting morning in which all of our pupils sang with enthusiasm, confidence and joy.

Well done, Year 2! We are very proud of you!

Readers' Treat: Spring Term

The spring term Readers' Treat involved creativity, planning, teamwork and a race against time! The children were given a range of different equipment including tyres, the wall bars, hurdles, ladders and netting and were tasked with building and completing their own obstacle course. We had some very creative designs!

For those children who missed out this time, don't give up! The preparation for the summer treat is already underway and we're so excited to see even more of our pupils participating in the next round!

Year 2: Pizza Express Visit

2MP had a fabulous time this week as they ventured out of school to visit Romford Pizza Express. After an enjoyable bus journey on the 193, the children excitedly arrived at Pizza Express and were eager to become mini pizzaiolo's. After learning about food hygiene, they donned their aprons and the very important chef hat to create their own Margarita pizza! The children learnt how to stretch the dough with their fingertips, add the all important tomato base, before finishing off with the creamy mozzarella cheese and a sprinkle of dried oregano.

While their delicious pizzas were cooking, the children enjoyed taking part in a vegetable tasting session and learnt some fun facts about the ingredients used in their pizzas. Once the pizzas were ready to take away, we enjoyed eating them from the box at lunchtime! Delizioso!
