Achievements of the Week (w/c 23rd January)

Congratulations to our Times Table winners this week! These pupils have hopped aboard the Times Table train to continue their journey to becoming a Times Table Champion. They have worked exceptionally hard to learn and master their multiplication and division facts.

Congratulations to our Reading and Poetry Superstrs this week! To achieve this award, all of these children have either read poems or books by their year group authors (Bronze is 5, Silver is 10 and Gold is 15). A big well done to this week's winners who have demonstrated great commitment and dedication to reading.

Our Achievements of the Week winners should be very proud of their success!

E for Effort and WOW! Winners (w/c 23rd January)

In order to reward our pupils who have gone above and beyond in their learning each week and put in extra effort, each class teacher chooses one pupil to receive the E for Effort cup and certificate.

Here are this week's winners. Well done - we are very proud of you all!

Year 2: Forest School

Despite the freezing temperatures, 2MP had another enjoyable session at Forest School this week! The ice only added to the fun when some was found in the mud kitchen. The children made an icy sponge cake and an ice sculpture. Sticks were sourced from the woodland so that magic wands could be created; the children then enjoyed putting magic spells on their friends. We also saw brilliant den building, tree climbing and rope swing skills. What a fun afternoon!

Year 2: Art

Our Art topic this term is learning about the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo, born in Italy in 1527. He is best known for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely of objects such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish and books.

Last week, the children were given a bowl of fruit and vegetables and were tasked with recreating Arcimboldo's famous portrait of Vertumnus. The children worked collaboratively selecting the foods to create facial features. They worked extremely well and no two portraits were the same!

Over the next few weeks, the children will be recreating other portraits.
Well done, Year 2! Keep up the creativity!

Year 2: Forest School

2MP enjoyed their second week at Forest School. This week, the children have been showing off their excellent den making and tree climbing skills. The rope swing was very popular and the children demonstrated teamwork when getting on and off it! The children also had fun making medallions with the drill.

Well done, 2MP!

Year 1: Victorian Workshop

Year 1 have had an exciting visit from a Victorian teacher! She brought in many interesting toys and we had lots of fun exploring them. From Jacob's Ladder to Spinning Tops, we couldn't decide which one was our favourite...
