Year 6: Virtual Miles the Mole

November 11, 2020

Year 6 had an interesting afternoon yesterday, attending a Zoom session run by Havering called, 'Miles the Mole.'  Miles the Mole shared his wealth of knowledge about what the air is made of, what air pollution is and what we can do to decrease it. Within the session, the children were able to watch a drama workshop, listen to an air pollution song, follow the actions and act out different ways of getting to school themselves.

Did you know that traffic causes 70% of air pollution? After finding this out, the children identified different ways they could get to school rather than by car. Some said they could ride their bikes, others said to scoot, whilst those close enough said they would walk. We will continue to think about what else we can do as individuals and as classes to help reduce air pollution. What can you do?
