Year 3 have been learning all about plants in their science lessons. To help learn all of the vocabulary associated with flowers, we made three-dimensional models of a flower and labelled them with the new words we have learnt; sepal, ovary, ovule, style, stigma, anther, filament, carpel and stamen. We then used these model flowers to help us understand the role of the different parts of the flowers in the pollination process, pollinating our classrooms of flowers with bees which then settled on our flowers’ petals to rest.
