Year 6: Granville T. Woods

October 15, 2021

Year 6 have been learning about Granville T. Woods, an African American scientist, who worked during the late 1800s and early 1900s to develop telecommunications within transport. To support their learning, the children were challenged to identify the pros and cons of owning electric cars.

Having conducted their research in groups, each side presented their points with relevant evidence to support them. Finally, we took a vote on who would opt for an electric car.

Both sides put forward excellent arguments with both the environment and the lack of infrastructure being considered and the final result revealed an even split between the children.
