Reception: The Very Hungry Caterpillar

May 20, 2022
Reception have been focusing on the book ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle.

This week, the children have been doubling using butterflies, making caterpillars out of paper plates, painting butterflies and caterpillars and have been butterfly spotting too.

During our 'Caterpillar Day', we made caterpillar necklaces and paperchain caterpillars. We also went on a minibeast hunt where we spotted bees, flies and even small caterpillars in the school field!

Our favourite activity of the day was chopping some yummy fruit and eating it just like the Very Hungry Caterpillar did!
