Year 3: Science

Year 3 have been learning about why joints in our bodies are needed for movement to occur. Firstly, we learnt about the 3 types of joints: ball and socket, hinge and gliding. We located where we would find these in our bodies. After this, we recreated our arms including the 3 different joints.

Step 1: We started with the shoulder (a ball and socket joint).

Step 2: Then we moved down the arm to our upper arm and forearm (a hinge joint).

Step 3: Lastly, moving down the arm to our wrist (a gliding joint). 


The children had great fun getting creative and applying their Scientific knowledge to a practical task. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures of the children proudly holding their final recreated arm!
