Year 1: Black History Week

October 22, 2021

Known as 'lightning,' Usain Bolt has been the chosen figure for Year 1 to learn all about this week. They now know key information about him and recorded their new knowledge in fact files. Additionally, they have created Olympic medals, Jamaican flags and Olympic torches that are either on display or being sent home to show everyone.

As a grand finale to the week, the children took on the Year 1 staff, Mrs Leslie and Miss Hornsby in a race to beat Usain Bolt's record. Unfortunately for us, the record is still firmly in the hands of Bolt!
