Year 6 Science: Volcanoes

April 20, 2015
Year 6 have been studying reversible and irreversible changes in Science this term. They built volcanoes and, using a mixture of bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and washing up liquid, they created an explosion. It was an opportunity for our pupils to see what happens when different substances are mixed together; they could clearly identify that the change in the substances was irreversible. Unfortunately, it was not so easy to reverse the strong smell of vinegar that lingered outside their classroom for some time afterwards!
