Music Curriculum: World Music

April 29, 2015
The National Curriculum for Music aims to make sure that all pupils, ‘perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians.’

Each week, the children of Hacton listen to a different piece of music each week on their way into assembly and during their weekly singing assembly, they discuss the focus piece of music for that week.

This term’s focus is on World Music. From South Africa to China, Cuba to India, Greece to Argentina, we will take a musical journey around the world throughout the summer.
