Year 3 Science: Forces and Magnets

May 12, 2021

In Science this half term, Year 3 are learning all about Forces and Magnets. Last week, the children looked at magnetic vs. non-magnetic materials and took part in an experiment. We used everyday items such as cutlery, different coins and stationary. Firstly, the children predicted whether or not the objects would be magnetic and then they used bar magnets to test their predictions. Some objects surprised the children, such as tin foil. The children also enjoyed learning about magnetic fields and tested how many paperclips would attract to a magnet. We hope that you enjoy looking at the pictures of the children having fun learning. Well done Year 3!
