Reception: Summer Walk

May 19, 2021

As part of our topic, Reception completed a summer walk last week. On the walk we had to take note or photos of the changes we saw since our Autumn walk and keep an eye out for any minibeasts we found. The children spent some time smelling the flowers and discussing the changes they saw, spotting an array of growing flowers, blossoming trees, and even saw/heard bird songs from their bird's nest.

Below are some pupil quotes about the walk:

Elephants class:

"When I saw the daisies, I thought they looked really pretty and because they were growing, it means that its summer."

Lion class:

"We saw some berries and we saw some purple flowers."

"We looked for some pink flowers."

"We knew it was summer because we saw the sun and some flowers."

Giraffe class:

"Some flowers really love it in the sun and they're really loving the sun. I saw a honeybee on the flowers buzzing around."
