Year 5: Heart Global Workshop (Day 1)

March 12, 2024

Wow! What a day our budding performers had at the Heart Global workshop! After signing in and settling a few nerves, our Hacton stars were put straight to learning the opening dance for their show on Wednesday evening. Steps learned and with rehearsals well underway, it was soon time to practise their first choral number and medley.

A snack and a well-earned break time couldn’t come quick enough for our hardworking singers and dancers as they put 110% effort in all morning! Taking a break from rehearsals, the children were given the opportunity to show off their impressive dance moves in an almighty dance party, where some even led the rest of the crowd! After some incredible dancing, it was then time for a singing workshop where, if they wanted to, aspiring singers sang solos of their favourite songs to their group: Mrs Mears was absolutely amazed at the quality of our singers! Finally, it was time for lunch so everyone could refuel, ready for the last leg of the day!

To end the day, it was time to turn our hand to acting! Not giving away any spoilers but the children used improvisation and really got into their roles, giving it their all, for one segment of the final show. Our exhausted yet talented performers left Bower Park full of enthusiasm, eager to get back to it and dive straight into day 2! As always, their behaviour was exemplary and they did Hacton proud - well done!
