Year 2: Materials Investigation

February 02, 2021

The pupils in Year 2 have been learning about Materials and their properties whilst at home. They have taken part in different investigations throughout the topic, and this was one of their favourites. They were given the task to test four different materials to find the most suitable for a tent for their teddy. They had to test absorbency, water resistance and strength against the wind and rain. The children had obvious fun using hoses in the garden, bath taps and hairdryers to test for these things. They then had to complete a table of results giving their reasons why materials were suitable or not.

We are so proud of our Year 2 children and their families for fully embracing practical, engaging Science at home. Thank you!
