Year 5 spent the day exploring the World War One exhibition at the Imperial War Museum, London. Stunned by the incredible artefacts and information, they came back to school having a greater understanding of the reality of life at war. They learnt more about the catalysts behind its beginnings, the brutality of life as a soldier and the impact the war had on the home front. By visiting the museum, Year 5 also gained a greater insight into the lives of Joey and Albert, who are characters in the story 'War Horse' by Michael Morpurgo.
