Outdoor Learning Week: Year 5

October 18, 2019
Year 5 had a brilliant afternoon planning and creating bug hotels. They used found materials to create a home for nature with lots of nooks and crannies for bugs to hide in. They placed them around the school grounds to encourage wildlife to make a home at Hacton.

Mr and Mrs Manning, who are both Scout leaders, introduced Year 5 to the exciting world of bushcraft skills. The children learnt new outdoor skills, such as shelter building and fire lighting. The best part: roasting marshmallows over a roaring fire.
