Year 6: Science

December 13, 2023

This week, our fabulous Year 6 scientists put their acting talents to the test to perform shadow plays (an ancient form of storytelling) using cut out figures (shadow puppets) which they held between a source of light and a screen.

As a part of our 'light' topic, the children were challenged to identify how shadows are formed; to think about the best materials to cast the most defined shadow; and to decide where to best place the light source to ensure the characters were accurately sized. We all had a lot of fun, especially as the traditional fairytales were performed with some hilarious Year 6 twists!
