Provision: Deaf Swimming Gala

December 08, 2023

What an amazing and fun day for our Junior Provision children! 5 children from Years 3, 5 and 6 had the opportunity to take part in a Deaf swimming gala at the Aquatic Centre in the Olympic Park, Stratford. Taking part in 9 races between them, they competed against 7 other teams. Races included treasure hunts, raft races and 10 metre dashes. Whilst the scores were calculated, all children enjoyed a fun splash. As the countdown commenced, the team were intensely waiting to find out which place they had achieved. It came down to the silver and gold places. Parents, who came to watch, erupted in excitement as Hacton took the GOLD medals and trophy! We are immensely proud of the great commitment, dedication and teamwork of our children.

After getting changed, our gold medal winners had a surprise encounter with an Olympic gold medalist… Tom Daley!
