The children in Year 1 were treated to a visit from Snakes Alive! to consolidate their learning on reptiles as part of their science curriculum.
They learnt about a range of different creatures from Daisy the 35 year old python to a tortoise, toad, corn snake, stick insect, bearded dragon and a red-bellied lizard. The leaders spoke about the origins of each animal alongside its diet, habitat as well as facts about its skin, body and daily routine.
Following the learning, the children were then given the opportunity to hold and stroke each animal. They were brave, respectful and inquisitive and some overcame fears they thought they had!
It was an extremely fun and educational visit that was enjoyed by children and staff alike!
