School Council: Houses of Parliament Visit

June 14, 2024

This year, our School Council have been incredibly proactive in sharing the views of their peers and in striving to make our school environment the best possible place it can be! They have worked effectively as a team and have been forthcoming in making their plans and ideas a reality! This year, our School Council have introduced the fish as school pets, have worked alongside staff to introduce a new point system for our school values (all will be revealed in September!) and have played a key role in updating the playground equipment.

To celebrate the end of their tenure, our School Council had an exciting trip to the Houses of Parliament. They were able to see the three parts (the sovereign, the House of Lords and the House of Commons) and even walked the very steps that royalty, both past and present, have taken! They have seen democracy in action within our school walls but what an experience to see and discuss it in the very building that houses our law-making system!
