Year 1: Billy’s Bucket

Over the last two weeks, Year 1 have been reading Billy's Bucket. By Kes Gray and Garry Parsons. The children loved reading the book, especially the ending where the whale flew out of Billy's bucket! The children came up with their very own ideas as to what they could see in their bucket. The ideas ranged from a beautiful meadow of flowers to a forest with bears playing in the stream to out of space. Later in the week, we talked about how we could fill other people's buckets and say and do nice things to those around us.
