PHIC: Here We Are

October 06, 2020

In Literacy, Year 2 PHIC children have been enjoying the book ‘Here We Are’ by Oliver Jeffers. The children have been fascinated by the beautiful illustrations often spotting hidden silly details added by Jeffers.  The children have used the book to reinforce category knowledge and to write non-fiction texts and instructions.

The book introduced the children to our solar system and the many different star constellations.  On Monday, the children made their own constellation viewer. They then wrote a ‘how to guide’ using time connectives and imperative verbs.

I think we have found some future stargazers!
