Year 3: DT

This half term, Year 3’s DT topic has been healthy snacks with their final task being to make a healthy sandwich. After tasting different breads, practising cutting skills on different vegetables and designing a healthy sandwich, all the children followed their design to make their healthy sandwich themselves. As the weather was so glorious, each class went outside to have a picnic and enjoy the sandwiches that they had made. Many children surprised themselves in enjoying healthier breads that they didn’t think that they would like, and some devoured every inch of their snack, even the vegetables! There were some very elaborate healthy sandwich designs including pesto chicken, prawn and avocado and even fishfingers and cheese! Some future sandwich designers for M&S maybe?
