On Tuesday afternoon, our Year 6 pupils had the opportunity to attend a Junior citizen Programme that was run at the Territorial Army Base in Romford.
The afternoon consisted of 9 different stations where the children learnt how to live, travel and act safely. Three stations were run by the police: one highlighted the seriousness of indecent images; the second explained the types of blades and knives that are legal and illegal in public places and the third identified different substances and crimes that can easily occur on the streets (drugs, knife crime, laughing gas, alcohol, etc). Other stations were run by Wize Up, the Fire Brigade, Environmental Officers, Thames Water, Cycle Helmets (which explained how helmets save lives) and a TfL Police Officer.
It was a very informative and enjoyable afternoon for the children and staff.
