Year 1: Literacy Week

April 07, 2025

This week, Year 1 have loved immersing themselves in alternate Fairy Tale worlds. They have acted, written, created and explored as well as dressed up as their own Fairy Tale character.

Our week started with the children exploring our chosen text of 'The Paper Bag Princess'. Using junk modelling, they were tasked with the challenge of building a new castle for the princess that could withstand the strength of the fire breathing dragon - a hairdryer! The children have visited our Forest School to see a fire in action and have put their creativity skills to the test when designing the princess a new paper bag dress to wear.

A great week has been had by all! Thank you for all the effort you have gone to in supporting us this week.
