Year 2: Florence Nightingale

June 29, 2023

In Year 2, we have been learning about significant individuals who have changed the course of history and in particular, the life and work of Florence Nightingale.

As part of the wider curriculum, the children engaged in an hour-long workshop in which they 'met' Florence Nightingale and explored her life, schooling, work and of course her nursing during the Crimean War.

The children were able to take part in role play activities in which they were soldiers or nurses and re-enacted caring for the sick and needy.  They also took part in preparing the disgusting hospital for use!

The children were engaged, excellently behaved and enthralled by the experience. Well done, Year 2!
