Year 5: Science

Year 5 enjoyed working with different solutions to see the rate at which sugar dissolved. As a group, they decided on their variables. Whether they chose to change the temperature of the water, type of liquid, type of sugar or amount. They planned their own experiment and worked as a team to observe how long it took for the sugar to dissolve. We used many keywords including solution, saturation and sediment. They wrote up their experiments and concluded that granulated sugar dissolved the quickest in standard water but took longer in the oil.
