Year 2: Music

October 16, 2023
This half term in Music, Year 2 have been looking at the Great Fire of London. Their first challenge was to sing London's Burning as a round and the children enjoyed taking it in turns to be the conductor; changing the tempo (how fast or slow) and dynamics (how loud or soft). They then became instrumentalists, learning how to play London's Burning on the glockenspiel and even using a musical notation grid to follow the music. The final step was to become percussionists and the children carefully selected a range of percussion instruments to improvise their own Great Fire of London sound effects.

The children have also enjoyed listening to the song September 1666
