GOSH Race for the Kids

October 09, 2023
Luckily, the sun was shining for all of the pupils at Hacton on Thursday and Friday as they took part in our first ever charity fun run. The children came out to the field full of enthusiasm, a great winning attitude and an eagerness to do what they could for the new cancer centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital.  It was fabulous to tell each year group how much our total was growing throughout the day and the cheers were heartwarming as they knew they were doing something hugely worthwhile.

After a warm up, in which they all stretched their muscles in readiness for the challenge, the pupils then took to the course on their own, in groups or with the staff who took part. Some danced, some cartwheeled, but many ran and ran, with some running as many 23 laps! It was lovely to witness our pupils going the extra mile for such a worthy cause.

We are so proud to announce that at the close of Friday, our total for the charity was a wonderful £1,410.

Thank you so much for your generosity. What an amazing, kind school community we have. 💚
