Year 3: SPaG

March 02, 2022
In our Literacy lessons this week, Year 3 are going to be writing newspaper reports based on our new core text. In our reports, we will be including quotes from characters by using inverted commas. To explore this, we used macaroni pasta to show dialogue and added in extra punctuation that was required.

To further challenge themselves, the children also replaced the word ‘said’ with a more exciting alternative and added in extra detail using adverbs of manner and conjunctions.

We think that they are now prepared to use inverted commas accurately within their newspaper reports!
