Reading Ambassadors: Trip to Waterstones

December 02, 2021

Last Wednesday, Hacton's Reading Ambassadors set off on an incredible school trip to Waterstones book shop in Romford. Each ambassador was tasked with choosing two high-quality children's book that once purchased, would sit on the shelves of our brand new school library.

We set off at 9am and caught the bus into Romford town. When we arrived at the book shop, we were given a tour and then we were free to explore the colourful selection of stories to find the one that we wanted to buy. Each ambassador then paid for their books using a pouch of money.

The ambassadors also got to visit the shop's cafe where they were treated to a hot chocolate. Lots of the children took this as an opportunity to start reading their new purchases! After a quick bus ride back to school, the children placed their books in the school library.

Thank you, Reading Ambassadors, for your careful book selections!
