Year 5 Ancient Greek Day

After a wonderful day making Athena’s owl out of clay, producing soldiers’ helmets and competing in the ‘Ancient Greek Olympics’, Year 5 pupils looked forward to the highlight of Ancient Greek Day: the feast. Whilst listening to some Ancient Greek music, the children lounged on the floor in typical Grecian style. They enjoyed traditional food such as feta cheese, hummus, pita bread, and, of course, grapes. For many children, part of the fun was daring each other to eat olives - although some pupils just didn’t know what all the fuss was about!
