To celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, we have a week packed with fun activities. Class work will focus on the Queen’s life with research and writing about the Commonwealth and the different decades of her 60 year reign. Out of the classroom, children are sure to enjoy bouncing around during the dance-inspired Zumba workout sessions that we are holding on Tuesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, excited cheers will fill the playground during our inter-house netball tournament and throughout the week pupils will take on the challenge set by the School Council of running 60 laps of the school track in 60 minutes. We also have visits from a theatre company and the London Fire Brigade.
On Friday, our celebrations will culminate in a Jubilee street party on the school field. Children will be encouraged to dress in a combination of red, white and blue and each year group will perform a dance from a decade of Queen Elizabeth 2’s reign. We hope this is an informative and enjoyable week for all our pupils before the bank-holiday weekend celebrations and a well deserved half-term break.
