Year 3: SPaG

November 21, 2023
Last week, in their SPaG lessons, Year 3 practised building sentences. Starting with a noun and a verb, they added 'bricks' starting with determiners followed by adjectives, adverbs of manner (how) and adverbials of place (where) until their sentences became Year 3 type sentences. They then experimented with different sentence openers, placing the adverbial of manner or the adverbial of place at the start of their sentence. Some were even able to place a comma after the adverbial opener!

Well done, Year 3. Now that you have practised sentence building with colourful 'bricks', your teachers are looking forward to seeing sentences like these in your writing!
