Year 3 and 4: Quad Kids

June 30, 2022

16 talented athletes from Years 3 and 4 recently competed in the Havering Quad Kids athletics event at Hornchurch Stadium. In this competition, each member of the team took part in a 50m sprint, a 400m run, a vortex throw and a standing long jump; their points from each discipline are then added together to get a team score.

Every member of the team did brilliantly. In the challenging 400m run, every child took on advice about pacing themselves, resulting in some impressive times. Most importantly, they worked well as a team by congratulating and supporting each other and had smiles on their faces throughout the morning (well, apart from at the end of the long run!). In the individual placings, two of our girls were 3rd highest overall finisher out of around 130 children in their year group, and we had many other top 10 finishers in the four events.
After the event, we found out the team results.  Our Year 4 team finished in a superb 4th place out of 36 schools in the borough, and our Year 3 team came 1st out of 34 teams - what an incredible achievement!

Well done to the team for representing Hacton so well - we are very proud of you all.
